Foundation activity

Antiquities Collection

Since 2012, the Foundation has been promoting Nuria Pla’s collection of furniture and antiques. To achieve this, it was necessary to rehabilitate and prepare the family house to eventually house the collection and make it accessible to the public.

Care Work and Contributions

Since its inception, the Foundation has made numerous contributions to welfare and socio-health organizations and institutions, including Cruz Roja, Cáritas, Ayuda a la Iglesia Necesitada, Médicos sin Fronteras, Josep Carreras Foundation and Hospital de Sant Pau, among others.

Support for Medical Research

Through a significant collaboration with the BRN FOUNDATION, comprised of leading professionals in the field of lung diseases, an agreement has been established. This agreement outlines the creation of a biennial award in the name of Dr. Pla Armengol and an annual grant for a research team in this specific field.

Collection of Antiques

• Promotion and dissemination of Nuria Pla’s collection of antiques through the Ramón Pla Armengol Foundation through the rehabilitation and conditioning of the family home and the exhibition rooms.

Care work and social work

• Contributions to welfare organizations and institutions and hospitals such as Red Cross, Caritas, Doctors Without Borders, Josep Carreras Foundation, Cottolengo del Pare Alegre, Sant Rafael Hospital, Sant Camilo Residence, Sant Pau Hospital, Sisters of the Poor and Missionaries of Charity .

• Agreement with CARITAS for the “Entities with Heart” campaign and with the Fundació Ajuda a l’Església Necessitada.

Support for Medical Research

• Agreement with the FUNDACIÓ Barcelona Respiratory Network (BRN) for the creation of a biennial award, under the name Doctor Pla Armengol and an annual grant for a research team in this field.< /p>

Collection of antiques

• Inauguration and opening to the public of the first exhibition rooms.

Care Work and Social Work

• Contributions to aid social and religious missions in Spain and other countries.

Support for medical research

• Awarding of the 2015 Ramon Pla Armengol scholarship on the occasion of the opening of the furniture and antiques exhibition.

Museum Activity

• Conditioning of two new exhibition rooms and the access corridor on the ground floor. Installation of the new exhibition in the former laboratory of Doctor Pla Armengol in collaboration with the Center for the History of Science of the Autonomous University of Barcelona .< /span>

Care Work and Social Work

• Collaboration with Caritas and Aid to the Necessity Church in social support projects.

Support for medical research

• Promotion of selected research projects with the technical support of the Barcelona Respiratory Network foundation.

Museum Activity

• Total conditioning of the ground floor of the old laboratory and expansion of common spaces for exhibitions, conferences and trainings.

Care Work and Social Work

• Collaboration with Caritas and Aid to the Church Need:
– Torre Baró Open Center and Open Centers for children, teenagers and young people.
– Help victims of Boko Haram in Nigeria.
– Support for “Relieving the sick in Cuba”.

Support for medical research

• Boosting research in the field of pneumology through aid to selected projects (Non-Eosinophilic Neutrophilic Asthma) with the technical support of the BRN Foundation.

Museum Activity

• Rehabilitation of the second floor of the building and, therefore, of the entire industrial part and the old laboratory.

Care Work and Social Work

• Collaboration with Caritas and Aid to the Church Need:
– No one homeless.
– A thousand meals a day.
– Syrian refugees in Lebanon.

Support for medical research

• Promotion of research in the field of pulmonology through aid to selected projects (Radiomics in Lung Cancer Screening) with the technical support of the BRN Foundation.

Museum Activity

• Opening of all the rooms and conducting guided tours.
• Celebration of a meeting of the Center for Industrial Technological Development (CEDTI) and visit of the Minister of Science and Innovation, Diana Morant.
• Celebration of the Days “From the Tree to the Furniture” alongside the Association for the study of furniture.
• Reopening of Mas Ravetllat-Pla, now as Nuria Pla Museum House.

• Collaboration with Caritas and Aid to the Church in Need.

Support for medical research

• Boost research in the field of pneumology through aid to projects selected with the technical support of the BRN Foundation.
